Recipe: Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole
Tacky American cuisine at it's best. Not much of a sales pitch, sure, but we
both know this'll be one heck of a comfort food that your entire family will
love!
1 pound ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 cup (2 packets)
Char-Grilled
Cheeseburger Dip Mix (divided)
10.75 oz. can cream of mushrooms soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 a bag of frozen tater tots (about 1 pound)
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
~ In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is cooked
through, making sure to break up the beef into small pieces. Drain off excess
fat. Stir half the dip mix into the meat and onions and then spread evenly into
a 2-quart casserole dish.
~ Whisk together soup and milk. Pour soup mixture evenly over the beef mixture.
~ Dump the tater tots into a gallon-size zip-top bag. Pour remaining dip mix
into the bag. Blow into the bag to inflate and then quickly seal the bag shut.
Shake to coat tots with dip mix. Spread the tater tots evenly over the beef
mixture in the casserole dish.
~ Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the tots.
~ Bake casserole in a 350 degree oven for 30-40 minutes, until cheese is bubbly
and slightly browned..

1/2 sm. onion, peeled, chopped (about 2 - 3 Tbls.)
a fork full of dill pickle slices, chopped (about 1 - 2 Tbls.)
1 Tbls.
bacon bits OR 2 strips of pre-cooked bacon, chopped (optional)
~ Spread tortilla chips onto a smaller cookie sheet or pizza pan. Toast lightly
in an oven or toaster oven on the broil setting just until the top edges start
to brown.
~ Break up hamburger patty into tiny pieces and stir into Cheeseburger Dip.
~ Heat up dip in the microwave at 1 minute intervals, stirring in between, until
hot.
~ Drizzle cheeseburger dip over toasted chips. Sprinkle remaining ingredients
over the top of the nachos.
Note: To easily attain the fully cooked hamburger patty and pre-cooked bacon, I
recommend stopping in a drive through and getting a cheap bacon cheeseburger.
