Recipe: Cheddar Bacon Ranch Potato Tot Pie
This savory, sinful dish makes a great snack for the "big game", an alternative to your standard nachos, or even a breakfast side dish to serve with eggs. The use of bacon seasoning eliminates the time-consuming step of frying real bacon.
1 Lb. (approx. 3 cups) frozen potato tots
1 Tbls. Smoky Peppered Bacon Seasoning
non-stick cooking spray
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup prepared Buttermilk Ranch Dressing or Chipotle Ranch Dressing
1 Tbls. chives (optional)
~ Place the frozen tots in a gallon-size plastic bag. Sprinkle about half of the Bacon Seasoning into the bag. Hold the bag closed and shake to mix. Sprinkle the remaining Bacon Seasoning into the bag and shake to mix.
~ Bake the Potato tots per the package directions. When done, change the oven temperature to 400 degrees.
~ Spray non-stick cooking spray evenly into a 9" pie plate. Dump the cooked tots into the pie plate and lightly press them into the dish. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the tots.
~ Bake tots until the cheese has fully melted, approx. 5 minutes.
~ Drizzle the Ranch Dressing over the tots and sprinkle with chives.
